1. What is Massroufy?

Massroufy (مصروفي, "my expenses") is a personal finance app for daily money tracking. Record your spending and income, follow your monthly budgets, view reports, and export your data — all without creating an account or connecting to the internet.

Platform

PWA + Android (APK)

Built as a Progressive Web App (React + Vite + TypeScript) plus an Android wrapper (Capacitor) that produces a real APK file.

Data

Stored locally only

Transactions, accounts, budgets, categories and receipt photos are kept in your device's local storage (IndexedDB). Nothing is ever sent to the internet.

Currency

Algerian Dinar (DA)

Amounts in DA only (e.g. 1 250 DA), with Algeria's time zone (Africa/Algiers) and Saturday as the first day of the week.

Languages

French, Arabic, English

Fully translated in three languages, with right-to-left (RTL) layout support for Arabic.

Massroufy was created to give Algerians a simple, private budgeting tool that works without an internet connection and fits everyday local life.

Privacy

No data leaves your device

No user account, no server, no advertising, no trackers. The app never asks for your bank credentials. Your financial data belongs to you.

Access for all

Offline, no setup needed

Works without internet. No registration required — a "Cash" account is created automatically if you don't have one. Available as an instant PWA or an Android APK.

Deliberate limits (version 1.0): Massroufy does not sync between devices, does not send notifications when closed, does not connect to any Algerian bank (no public API), and handles one currency only (DA). These limits are explained honestly inside the app.

3. Key features

  • 100 % offline: service worker caches the app; no third-party requests allowed.
  • Local security: PIN code protected with PBKDF2-SHA256; optional biometric unlock (fingerprint / face) via WebAuthn.
  • Backup & restore: export your data to JSON and export transactions to CSV (spreadsheet); import on the same or another device.
  • Receipt photos: automatically resized and compressed to a few dozen KB.
  • Demo data: fictional examples marked "demo" to try the app in one click.
  • 121 automated tests: calculations, dates, currency format, translations, backups and app smoke test.
